Creating a simple Christmas stocking is a delightful sewing project. Here's a basic pattern to guide you:

Materials:

• Fabric of your choice (holiday-themed fabric is popular)
• Lining fabric
• Trim or ribbon (optional)
• Matching thread
• Sewing machine or needle for hand-sewing
• Scissors
• Pins

Instructions:

1. Create the Pattern:
   • Draw a stocking shape on a piece of paper. You can find stocking templates online or freehand the shape.
   • Make sure the stocking shape is symmetrical and suits your desired size.
   • Cut out the stocking shape to use as a template.
2. Cutting Fabric:
   • Fold your main fabric and lining fabric in half, right sides together.
   • Place the stocking template on the fabric, ensuring the fold of the fabric is along the top edge of the stocking.
   • Pin the template to the fabric and cut around it. You will end up with two stocking-shaped pieces from each fabric.
3. Assembling the Stocking:
   • Place one main fabric piece and one lining fabric piece right sides together.

   • If you want to add trim or ribbon, sandwich it between the main fabric and lining near the top edge. Pin in place.
4. Sewing:

5. Turn Right Side Out:
   • Turn the stocking right side out through the opening at the top.
6. Finishing:

   • Topstitch around the entire top edge to close the opening and add a finished look.
7. Optional Hanging Loop:
   • Cut a small strip of fabric or ribbon.
   • Fold it in half to create a loop.
   • Position the loop inside the stocking near the top edge and stitch it securely.
